Graham Burnett Dip perm des

Graham is the author and illustrator of Permaculture: A Beginners Guide, as well as a number of other titles. He is an experienced permaculture designer and teacher, runs the company Spiralseed and is actively involved with local community building projects. He has served as a trustee of the Permaculture Association (Britain) (PAB) and is a member of the PAB Designers Register. He holds the Diploma in Permaculture Design (Dip Perm Des). Claire White Dip Perm Des

Claire is a Permaculture practitioner and teacher focused on rural and urban Forest Garden projects. She is the Head Gardener at the award-winning St Francis Hospice garden and manages her own garden design practice, working with families designing domestic gardens as well as community projects. Claire is also a registered Diploma Support Tutor, and LAND tutor for the Permaculture Association. She holds the Diploma in Permaculture Design (Dip Perm Des). James Piers Taylor
James has been involved with permaculture since 2005 and has taught with the Apricot Centre, Naturewise, Spiralseed and others. Alongside degrees in literature and film he has an MSc in Human Ecology. James publishes the magazine Managed Retreat and is the author of Shadows of Progress and the forthcoming Forest Gardener: The Life and Work of Robert A De J Hart. Follow him @LondonPrmcultr. Gemma Harris
Local food activist Gemma Harris is a passionate advocate for perennial vegetables and salads, wild foods, herbal cocktails and refusing to participate in waste culture. She's a founder member of Urban Harvest, a group of friends that harvest and distribute unwanted free food in North London. She tweets @GemEats when she's not on a sabbatical from the electronic world.


Nicole Freris
After training in medicine, Nicole spent the best part of a decade working with indigenous people in the Brasilian Amazon. That experience woke her up to the world, and the real causes of our individual, social and environmental dis-ease. From training health agents, she became involved with issues related to land use, campaigned against the logging industry and soya frontier and found Permaculture. Since returning to London and working as a part time GP, Nicole has trained in medical herbalism and developed a vision of holistic health.


Jo Homan
Jo Homan was a poet, editor, teacher, PA, designer, print manager, office manager and childminder before founding Transition Finsbury Park in November 2008. She is now focusing on Edible Landscapes London, a plant nursery and community training project but continues to oversee communications for Transition Finsbury Park.


Marc Garrett

Marc Garrett   is co-director and co-founder, with artist Ruth Catlow of the Internet arts collectives and communities – Furtherfield.org, Furthernoise.org, Netbehaviour.org, also co-founder and co-curator/director of the Furtherfield Gallery.



Sherry Fuller
Sherry Fuller @FullerArty is a community activist and founder of micro-granting project Southend Soup. Sherry uses Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to bring people together to co-create change.  Through AI, people share stories about their best experiences – ‘what gives life to your community?’ - igniting imagination and optimism about what could be.  Through teaching, and Southend Soup events, Sherry hopes to inspire people to take control of their lives and communities.

Linda Royles
Linda runs a variety of projects in North London where she works with local communities to build with cob, through the Community Interest Company Cob in the Community. Recent projects have involved schools, a city farm and community gardens. They are an environmental Building Consultancy specializing in community regeneration, training in the built environment using cob, rammed earth / pise / straw bale and other natural materials.

 Kate Allardyce 
Kate is the creator and founder of the Meadow Orchard Project community garden in Crouch End. She is a member of Plot 21 community allotment, Growing in Haringey, Sustainable Haringey Food Group and Transition Crouch End.  Kate is also a natural health practitioner and is passionate about supporting people on their journey to better health, fulfilment, ease and flow in their life. She has been studying energy-based medicine, including shiatsu, craniosacral therapy and qi gong, over the last twelve years.



Abi Stevenson
Abi is an Architectural Designer, specialising in sustainable construction. She's interested in empowering communities through architecture and building things. She's a graduate of Edinburgh school of Art and the Centre for Alternative Technology's architecture programmes. Discover more on her website.
